it is what it is

So far I’ve only been on the process of training at work. But as of today, they decided to assign me my own work. When I was verifying my patients, so far things went swell until I came upon this one patient. It was a new patient and usually when you have new patients, it’s always good to call the reps to make sure the information given is correct. I tried verifying this patient with their id number however it wouldn’t pull through. My calls were transferred several times it was ridiculous. I finally decided to call the patient to get the correct information but they only spoke spanish. I asked my co worker to ask for me but the patient wouldn’t give her insurance information. We stated if she didn’t give us the correct information, she would be a cash rate patient (meaning their co pays would be much higher). We then tried calling their preferring MD but the doctor relocated to another site and no further contact information was given. I then tried calling the authorization department of our company but they couldn’t pull up any further information either. It was crazy how this whole mess happened on one patient.

Other than that, lately there has been food galore at work. On Monday, a patient brought a box of pastries for our staff along with those foot club sandwiches. On Tuesday, our supervisor brought us cupcakes and we also had a staff meeting that provided us with beans, rice, tortillas, beef, salad, salsa and chips and never ending boxes of pizza. Yesterday, we had a rep come in our office and they catered food from Boston Market. Today, another rep came in our office and brought Italian food. My goodness, I sound like a fatty talking about this food but sheesh, work’s gonna make me gain more weight. Can’t complain though, teehee.
